Rain Parade 2024 EU/ UK Tour Journal Part 2
6/14. Bristol. The journey to the UK from Belgium was probably the most brutal day on the road that I’ve ever experienced. We spent the night in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium (to be a bit closer to Le Tunnel) and hit the road at 7:30 AM. Clearing customs was a breeze, but when we got to the tunnel entry, we were informed that a train was broken down! We enjoyed some free coffee, and about an hour later we were loaded up on to the tunnel. England gifted us a whole bunch of heavy traffic, and by the time we arrived in Bristol, 11 hours had passed. Some extra time was needed to drop Mark off at Heathrow, and pick up Steven at the hotel in Bristol; many hugs in both places! Everyone was fried by the time we arrived at the venue, and it started pissing rain when we began loading in. Thankfully, it was immediately palpable that this venue was a good one. The staff was helpful and friendly, and there was a lovely spread of food in the green room for us weary travelers.
