Rain Parade Tour Journal 2024 part one

The feeling of being  on a plane for ten hours, ending up in a place that’s nine hours ahead, and trying to reconcile the brain and body to play music with little acclimating is weird. Yet wonderful.

6/6. Oslo: Due to a last minute health scare, the first half of the tour will be without Steven Roback, so there’s some strong anxiety. Mark Hanley is the only guy who could do this on such short order; Mark has played with Matt, Stephan, and John for over 20 years, and I’ve played with him a fair amount in the past decade that I’ve been in Rain Parade. Soundcheck is the first time I’ve played with the band with Mark on bass (the other 3 had one practice with Mark in Oakland a few days prior).
